Department of Pharmacognosy

This is the study of medicines derived from natural sources i.e plant, animals, marine and other life origins. The institute has developed a medicinal plant garden within the campus. Research areas include extraction, isolation, and characterization phytoconstituents from natural products.

The department also deals with development and standardization of novel herbal formulations. The department also organizes seminars and workshops on current topics at regular intervals.
